Yula Kapetanakos

I am currently a doctoral student at Cornell University in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. The bulk of my research takes place at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology Fuller Evolution Lab, and in the field. My dissertation research focuses on Asian vulture populations in Central and Southeast Asia, particularly in Kazakhstan and in Cambodia.

Maria Wheeler

I’m a doctoral student at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, co-advised by Dr. Brady Poter (Duquesne) and Dr. Todd Katzner (WVU). My research is centered on genetics of golden eagles in eastern North America, with the goal of determining the level of genetic distinction between modern and historic populations of golden eagles in the eastern North America and western North America.

Andrew Dennhardt

In 2014 I received my MS from West Virginia University in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources.  My faculty advisor was Dr. Todd Katzner.  The primary focus of my research project was on the paths used by Golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) during migration in eastern North America. Another objective of this project was to estimate a population size for Golden eagles in this region. I am now a doctoral student at Michigan State University.

Josh Daniel

I am a graduate student at West Virginia University and a Wildlife Manager with the WV Division of Natural Resources working with Dr. Todd Katzner.  The research I am conducting focuses upon coal mining and its impacts upon American black bear ecology in southern West Virginia.

Christina Slover

I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources, with Dr. Todd Katzner as my faculty advisor. I will be conducting my research at the Fernow Experimental Forest.

Shannon Behmke

I am a graduate student in the Peace Corps Masters International (PCMI) program at West Virginia University earning my degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Resources.  My advisor is Dr. Todd Katzner and my research focuses on using New World Vultures to monitor levels of environmental contaminants that negatively affect the health of wildlife and humans alike.

Julie Mallon

I am currently pursuing a Master of Science at West Virginia University. Dr. Todd Katzner is my faculty advisor and the focus of my research will be differences in the flight behavior of two species of New World Vultures - the Turkey Vulture and the Black Vulture.

Camille Concepcion

Madayaw! I am from the Philippines and a doctoral student at West Virginia University. My research focuses on movement ecology of poorly known Philippine birds of prey.

Bethany Drahota

Aloha nui loa! I am a graduate student at West Virginia University in the Peace Corps Masters International (PCMI) program.

Mark Paulson

I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources at West Virginia University with Dr. Todd Katzner as my faculty advisor. I am co-advised by Dr. Carol McIntyre of Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska (Denali National Park).
